Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to pack for my child?
  • any portable laptop (Apple or PC) with a USB port is and a charger
  • a pencil case with coloured pencils, an eraser and a pencil sharpener
  • a hat for outdoor play.
  • a morning tea snack, packed lunch and drink just as you would pack for their regular school lunch.
Why do I need to bring my own device?

Students feel familiar on their own device and can continue engaging in the program well after its over. Our STEM camp is temporary and a life of learning is permanent.

Should my child attend all three days?

Yes. The concepts introduced will build from the previous day.

What is Mechatronics?

Mechatronics integrates electronics with mechanical engineering, computer engineering, systems engineering and control engineering. Students will develop the ability to integrate electronics, control, software and mechanical engineering while having fun.

My child has never coded. Is this program suitable?

It is recommended for students in this course to have some programming experience. Your child will learn intermediate coding and electronics concepts using both online and offline activities and games. He or she will work through the program at their own pace and be involved in craft and electronics design with others.

My child has attended a coding class before. Will this still be useful?

Yes! Coding concepts can be applied again and again. There will be a number of open ended activities that will extend your child and keep them feeling engaged and challenged, while making plenty of new friends!

Do you offer refunds?

See our Terms and Conditions for refund information.

Can my child attend if they are younger than 10 years old?

Our program was built to specifically cater to students 10+ years old with some prior coding experience. If your child is younger or has limited coding experience and is keen to join, please email us at contact@stemworld.com.au before signing up.
